Claudette Williams is a shining example of the American dream. Born in Jamaica, her family moved to Brooklyn while she was a small child in pursuit of a better life. In 1998 she moved to the Mount Pocono, because of the caring community environment and the good school system which made raising children as a single mother slightly easier.
Claudette felt a calling to serve the country that welcomed her and enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserve. When Claudette was deployed to Iraq, she needed help to care for her children while she was half way around the world. Her community stepped up and with the help of family and neighbors her children were in good care. Now Claudette wants to re-pay her community by serving them in Harrisburg.
She is ready to get to work in the state house and make the Pocono region an area of growth and prosperity with job growth policies and fair wages. She will also ensure a high quality education system to teach the next generation of leaders and entrepreneurs. Claudette is ready to get to work in Harrisburg to make the American dream more attainable for Pennsylvanians.
