For more than a decade, John Yudichak has been an advocate for the people of Carbon and Luzerne Counties.
John introduced the first anti-gang legislation in Pennsylvania. He worked with Congressman Lou Barletta to create a community based initiative that would directly address and prevent gang violence. As an advocate for kids and safe schools, he secured funding for safe school training to teachers, created after school and community programs, and is the person Pennsylvania needs to fight for schools.
John knows that children are the future of the commonwealth, which is why education continues to be one of his top priorities. In assisting the Carbon SHINE program, and working to expand it to Luzerne county, allows children in the the program the opportunity to participate in afterschool programs and continue to learn. He created a private charity – Yudichak Family Lighthouse Fund – which has donated over $100,000 to local libraries, enabling them to foster a safe and accessible learning environment for all students and community members.
With his exemplary work, John Yudichak can only continue to better the commonwealth and help work towards a safe and educated future for all people.
