A commonwealth for the people, not the powerful, is the goal for Tim Kearney.
The two-term mayor of Swarthmore is running for senate district 26 in hopes of changing the representation in Harrisburg from the pockets of corporations back to the people. As a public servant, he has made it a point to work with all members of the community and listen to them on what issues are most important to them. Affordable, quality education, on all levels, and sustainable energy top the list of what he’s heard in his meetings. That is why Tim advocates for public education reform with the goal of equalizing the education funding system.
During his years as mayor, Tim learned how to ensure budgets reflect the needs of the people, not large corporations. He has seen how budgets can be drafted to benefit the wealthy and out-of-state corporations, instead of the people a budget is supposed to serve – the residents of the community.
With Tim in the state senate, residents of district 26 will know they have someone who will fight for them. With both his experience in running a business as an architect and governing, Tim Kearney is the person we need in Harrisburg to move Pennsylvania forward to a sustainable and productive future.
